Kamalika’s training began in her own mum’s bakery and restaurant back in Sri Lanka. Then, at the age of 16, Kamalika went on to do cake making and wedding cake diploma in the capital city Colombo.
After finishing Hotel School she joined the Le Meridian chain of hotels.
She met Dayantha – a pastry chef in Sri Lanka. Together they travelled as chefs to many countries and settled in Ireland eleven years ago.
Both have worked in many award winning restaurants in the midlands. They opened their coffee shop in Mullingar , but both yearned to share their knowledge and enjoyment of their vast learning.
Dayantha has tutored part-time in the Athlone Institute of Technology (A.I.T.) and Kamalika has undertaken many classes and demonstrations in LARCC Cancer Centre in Multyfarnham where she has worked for the last eleven years catering for the residential weeks and pamper days.
Together they have won many awards and medals both in Ireland and abroad.
All courses are conducted by Kamalika and qualified instructors .
After every class the participants get to taste the dishes and get many tips.
Kamalika wants every participant in each course to go home with a passion to cook !
